Dating isn't easy, but it gets even more complicated when it happens in the workplace. Director Han Jae Rim received the Best New Director Award at the 43rd Daejong Awards for his work in this unconventional tale of lust and love.

The film centers on a dedicated student teacher named Choi Hong (Kang Hye Jeong, from Old Boy) who finds herself being propositioned by English teacher Lee Yu Rim (Park Hae Il, from My Mother, the Mermaid), a man who just so happens to be the person in charge of her class! But this is no innocent flirtation. Not one to mince words, Yu Rim simply asks the unsuspecting Choi Hong to have sex! To make matters even stranger, Yu Rim already has a long-time girlfriend. His wandering eye relates to his beliefs about true love: for him, there is no such thing. In his view, dating is meant solely for sexual gratification.

Choi Hong has a boyfriend of her own, a man she one day hopes to marry. But like Yu Rim, she harbors doubts about relationships, a feeling directly connected to some unpleasant experiences in her past. Surprisingly, Yu Rim's methods actually seem to charm her. But as this unconventional romance takes off, will the two cynics realize what the real purpose of dating is? And what about their significant others? Or the whispers in the teachers' lounge about their behavior? Filled with bawdy humor and fun performances, Rules of Dating is one romantic comedy that's not afraid to break all the rules!


::: 줄거리 (Synopsis)

고등학교 영어교사 ‘유림’은 한 살 연상의 교생 ‘홍’에게 호시탐탐 수작을 건다. 여자친구 몰래 연애를 걸면서도 너무나 당당하고 게다가 집요하다. 파트너쉽을 핑계로 단둘이 갖게 된 술자리에서 유림은 기회를 틈타 솔직하게 고백한다. “같이 자고 싶어요!”

그런데 이 여자 홍도 만만치 않다. “나랑 자려면 50만원 내요.” 서로간의 밀고 당기는 줄다리기가 반복되면서 그들은 어느새 ‘연애’에 진입하게 된다. 그리고, 목적없던 연애에 ‘목적’이 생기면서 그들의 연애는 골치 아파진다.
